30 BEST WAYS TO SAVE MONEY

Saving money can be hard, especially if you’re living paycheck to paycheck. But it doesn’t have to be! There are lots of ways to save money that don’t involve scrimping, cutting corners or going without the things you love. In this blog post, I’ll share 30 of the best ways to save money.

1. Keep a budget

Keeping track of your income and expenses is essential for gaining control over your fi-nances. Also drawing up a budget can help you stay on top of your spending, identify areas where you’re wasting money, and make sure that you are saving enough each month.

2. Make extra payments on credit cards

Paying more than your monthly minimum balance will help you pay off your debt faster and save money on interest charges. Eventually you will become debt free!

3. Cut back on cable

With the rise of streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime, many people are ditching their expensive cable packages and opting for cheaper alternatives.

4. Shop around for insurance

Take the time to shop around for car, home, and life insurance policies. This can help you find more affordable coverage and save hundreds of dollars a year!

5. Automate your savings

Setting up automatic transfers from your checking account to your savings account can make it easier to save money without having to remember to do it manually. So the best thing you can do is to set up a fixed amount of money you are going to save every month and make automatic transfer.

6. Take advantage of employee benefits

If your employer offers a 401k plan, take full advantage by contributing as much as you can to get the maximum amount of matching funds. It also applies to other countries where there different kinds of employee benefits.

7. Practice DIY maintenance

Many home repairs and maintenance tasks are simple enough that you can do them yourself rather than having to pay someone else to do it. And who knows? Maybe one day it will become your new hobby? 🙂

8. Limit eating out

Eating out is expensive, so try to limit the number of times you do this each week. If you really want to save money, cook most of your meals at home instead.

9. Buy secondhand when possible

Shopping for furniture and clothes at thrift stores or garage sales can help you find quality items at a fraction of the cost. What is more the things you buy will be more uniqe and special.

10. Take advantage of coupons and discounts

Always be on the lookout for discount codes, store coupons, and other ways to save money when shopping online or in-store. However be careful not to buy things only because they are on sale! I did it so many times!

11. Utilize rewards programs

Sign up for loyalty cards and shop at stores that offer rewards points to get discounts on future purchases.

12. Invest in energy-saving appliances

Investing in energy-efficient appliances and light bulbs can save you money over time by reducing your electricity bills and other energy costs.

13. Consolidate debt

If you have multiple loans or credit cards, look into consolidating them into one payment with a lower interest rate. As a result you pay off debt faster and save money on interest charges. But remember that paying off the debt is your priority now. Except the mortgage because that’s not the debt you need to pay off as fast as possible (however it is al-ways a good option to pay it off faster). The rest of the debts (from loan, credit cards, etc.) you should pay as fast as possible).

14. Opt for generic brands

Generic products are usually just as good as their more expensive name-brand counterparts, so it pays to compare them when possible. To be honest when it comes to food I always buy generic, especially considering the fact that more often than not they are produced in the same factory as branded products.

15. Cut back on soft drinks

Soft drinks can be expensive, so limit the amount you consume (or skip it altogether) to save money. Instead of alcohol or cola try to drink more water (with lemon if you want). What is more it will not only help you to save money but it will also be good for your skin and health.
